i see a lot of people associate the blame for the rough mixing of certain kanye or travis albums to mike and think that it’s his doing
i just wanna let yall know that mike dean mixes plenty of albums that fits the industry standard of “perfect” and super experimental weird but well done stuff.
these albums absolutely sound the way they do because of the artists decisions and the last minute rushed nature of things.
on top of that, ye has been recording vocals on iphones for years. i get why people blame mike cause he’s the mixer for a lot of these things but just check his other credits and you’ll see that is not his actual style or sound
