We already had this conversation in the vegan thread but white vegans with money that guilt trip communities of color that have lived on cultural diets for decades for not coming to a lifestyle that is frankly expensive (and great if you know how to do it cheap but you know that aint widespread information) have definitely not been an overall good for the veganism movement besides coming off as hypocritical privileged kids.

But you know that already lol.

i be the most gentle compassionate mf irl holding ppls hands as they take baby steps cuz every bit matters. I've had a couple ppl tell me irl they gave up cows milk or w/e and it almost makes me cry.

I understand that wealth inequality and social justice issues have led some people to harbor resentment against the rich, but it's essential to remember that wealth doesn't inherently make someone evil, nor does it exempt them from compassion and empathy.

First and foremost, every life is valuable, regardless of social status or financial standing. Dehumanizing and making sweeping generalizations about any group, including the rich, is a dangerous and unproductive path. It perpetuates division and feeds into the narrative of 'us versus them,' which only exacerbates societal issues.

Second, celebrating someone's death because of their financial status misses the core issue of systemic inequality. Wealth in itself is not inherently bad—it’s the systems that allow for disproportionate accumulation and lack of wealth redistribution that are problematic. But directing anger at individuals instead of at these systems is misguided.

Lastly, celebrating the misfortune of others doesn't bring about positive change. Rather, it fosters a culture of hatred and revenge. Instead of rejoicing in tragedy, we should use such events as an opportunity to discuss the societal structures that perpetuate wealth inequality and work towards concrete solutions.

In conclusion, no amount of wealth or lack thereof makes anyone more or less deserving of empathy and respect. Celebrating the presumed deaths of these individuals does not help in the fight for equality or justice—it simply reflects poorly on our collective humanity. Let us strive for compassion, understanding, and constructive dialogue instead.
