I wouldnt say its cosplay, he himself just love rap and even spoke outright about hating the hype he gathered with what was just essentially a passion project hence why he kinda stopped it.

long answer: the first sentence of your title just straight up cap. its one of the first results when you search "memphis rap albums" and consistently rated highest for the genre on most music sites. as far as some "experimental" white rapper from virginia spitting voice modulated ChatGPT-horrorcore rhymes having a "top 5 rap album" of the last decade... definitely not. his production is decent but otherwise he a carbon copy at best, nothing special.
