Mulatto is a racist term for "half breeds" during slave days by white slave masters, so thanks for that.

And no, thats not what I mean lol. I meant I don't know the specific name of my black parent & white parent race.

I think my white parent is Irish & Itallian, while I have no clue about the black parent who is black & I think also Cherokee Native or some s***. But I don't know for sure aside from I'm mostly just black n white with like a quater of native since my black parent is exactly half iirc.

I don’t think it’s really been proven that the origin of the word mulatto is racist (but it was used in a racist context though at times). I was researching the topic a few days ago, there were mixed opinions and explanations.

Ive always been told it was of racist origin by family & when I read up on it at my high school library back in the day it pointed in that direction too.

But it is def fact that word has been used at least in a negative racial context, even if it wasnt originally racist. Iirc the full context, the derogatory Racial joke is that our "half breed" skin tone is similar to that of a mulatto cookie & would be used in a negative light during the American slave era. Used to express disgrace & disgust towards us by white masters, & that we're kinda a joke.

It's not a super horrible word like "n1gger" of course, but it was def used as an insult & is derogatory & race related.

Only reason I brought up the historical part tho is because I think that user was purposely trying to use it as an insult & purposely take what I said out of context lol, but it's whatever.

One of the best things about being mixed imo is that I don't put too much stock into s*** like that or tribalism (n1gger & racism towards my black side & black brethren is of course terrible & I've faced that racism myself a few times irl), so over all it doesn't matter.
