If this is real depending on time and credits , out of all the reference tracks he changed the most on Mob Ties

But it's been my problem with Drake the past few years. As it is a bop, it's also filler when it doesn't have to be

I thought this was Donnie from PRIME for a second... but I saw Vory was a credited writer and yeah, checks out.

What's crazy is that, in looking through all the credits listed, this is the one "rap" song in Scorpion where Drake had a writer's help on it. But in the context of the Jumbotron leak just a month ago and everything previously, it can be made to look like Drake doesn't write s***.

At a certain point, do we have to consider this a blemish on his record and start calling him on it as Drake fans? This isn't even a full blown singing record like a "Hold On We're Going Home" where, although not ideal, I understand if someone else wrote it for him or gave him a reference track. This is a melodic rap song, Drake's "specialty". If he's not even writing these, then we're being sold a tainted bill of goods as rap fans. Drake is too knowledgable of the culture to know that this won't slide if he wants to be considered one of the greats in this space.

Our defense is that Drake is a writer that has help himself, but when it comes to certain tracks, he takes on full writing responsibilities. Drake very rarely gives us straight up rap songs now. It's all similar to Mob Ties where, yes it's rap, but there are the melodic parts that Drake has been known for. Do we know have to say those are now okay for him to have help with too? To me, that's too far.

Drake still using references as loosely as he does at his magnitude is insane to me. Bro how you not MAKE SURE this s*** doesn’t come out. After the meek situation my entire creative process would have changed. He moves so lazy lmao.

Drake fans aren't gonna care about this

I don't think he even calls himself the best rapper anymore. He's a crossover rapper like Kanye that can write good songs but sometimes uses writers

Underrated as a lyricist, but not in the convo of being the GOAT

Drake really just takes already completed songs and edits them. Scam artist.
