Classic song and classic album. I STILL remember the first time I heard The Infamous and I was in awe.
Another Q-Tip song from the album that is somehow even better than this one in my opinion.

The Classic Tip snare
The drums hit way harder on this than the radio version. But on the latter the sample is warmer and Havoc and Noyd cleaned up their delivery on that one.

!https://youtu.be/uh7PLcJ8q9AI noticed that the transitions are gone on the radio version, but I definitely noticed the kicks are harder and noticable on this.
If I can remember Tip did this on older MPCs.
I swear the old MPCs gave Boombap so much character in the lower sample rates it had at the time, whereas if try to make beat with a new MPC, it sounds very digital.
Big Noyd lowkey bit Phife flow ngl.
Yea I can see that. I do like Noyd’s voice/delivery nonetheless. A lil swing to it
The Infamous is in my top 10 rap albums of all time and this is def one of my favorite songs.
Fun fact, cole sampled it on St Tropez

It's basically the Pink Cookies In A Plastic Bag remix with harder drums

The Sp1200, Mpc 60 and Mpc 3000 all give the beats a certain sound but it’s honestly more on the producer, the samples they use and how they process it
Alchemist strictly uses a mpc 2500 and it doesn’t color the sound at all, Same as the new Mpcs and his beats still have that vintage warm sound
Tip used the S950 with the 3000 on this album for his joints
Man Akai got that special sound
