First listen? Yeah it’s pretty close, if this album came first maybe this would be the album that synonymous with mobb deep tbh
Did you catch the 2pac doss on drop a gem on em?
Classic album. Prefer this album to The Infamous. Can play with no skips and keeps the grimy sound throughout.
Self produced too, super underrated in terms of their production skills.
"Animal instinct, these niggas getting clapped on instinct"
Indeed, in the mood to play it in full now!
This album is gonna make you feel evil

Joe Budden’s podcast told Steve Stoute that Mase was rapping better than Prodigy at this point.

You as a kid discovering Mobb Deep and this album for the first time:

My first full listen to a mobb deep album too, was a 2pac Stan back in the day and it pissed me off how hard drop a gem on em was
Life after death was also my first big album too, I loved how hard the intro was and didn’t realise at the time it was the ending of ready to die, suicidal thoughts became one of my favourite songs of all time
It was biggie and mobb deep that got me massively into east coast hiphop
At that point I’d only heard if I ruled the world by Nas (owned the single), took me a while longer to get into him and Wu, it was so much harder to get to listen to music back in the day because the U.K. had one station that would play it at a specific time (Westwood) or you had to buy the CD! Did make you appreciate the music more though and actually spend time with a album
Def a classic for me. I always get back to this album. And the Hell On Earth beat is one of the dopest of all times
