Idk about all that. Its not just people forcing it when its pictures of white supremacists using the sign.

i havent really read into the past history of the symbols use, but i'd say its def been exacerbated by people online for the last 4 or 5 years, and a lot of younger white nationalists bought into the conspiracy

Thank god they got rid of that horrific hand signal. I kept getting distracted by how offensive it was and I couldn't concentrate on pumping hundreds of bullets into other CG humans. I couldn't even enjoy the friendly banter of teenagers yelling the N-word with a hard R in my headset.

All i want to do is play my imperialist hero simulator game without any needlessly offensive distractions.

They point out that the game literally allows players to commit war crimes through the use of killstreaks like White Phosphorus, so it seems odd for it to pursue a moral high ground.
    WHAT LMAO

If an American uses the phrase war crimes there is a 98% chance they are purposefully twisting something to fit their narrative

Co-opted by alt right a few years ago. Puts people in a weird spot of not wanting to allow extremists the power to control language and symbols and not wanting to make anything offensive. I think the symbol is too widely accepted as white supremicist now to rationalize putting it in games

Doesn’t taking the animation out of the game give these losers some sort of power though? I seriously don’t know a single person in life who correlates it with any racist connotations. Hadn’t even thought of it in years, even the white supremacist people just did it once a few years ago to “own the libs” and haven’t really utilized it since. But now that this is in the news again, it’s adding another spark to a brush fire that was already dead

Seems like a classic case of people making a mountain out of a molehill
