“I’m not talking about personal lists either”

Oh, OK. I have zero interest in making objective rap lists online. To me, the interesting aspect of music is the art, not treating it as sport measured by statistics.

Hip hop is more than music. and the entire reason “top 5/10 lists” are as common as they are in the genre and culture is because there is a built in competitive aspect to it.

The concept of “top 5s” was never a thing to that degree in any other style of music. So when you talk about a list, that competitive piece should always be assumed, otherwise it’s not hip hop, its people ignoring the customs of the culture and the whole meaning behind a list

People are scared of being objective in music. People are so convinced on the “it’s subjective” thing but I think a lot of yall just like having opinions that can’t be challenged or debated. Because that feels good or something.

I don’t find it fun to make my personal list either, no one cares that I like Charles Hamilton bro I’m just autistic and grew up in the blog era so I related to him. What’s the point really

Hell no I like Kendrick and I think both sides did great in the battle. Kendrick also won in the battle. I’m a true fan of the whole big 3 from day 1 and I enjoy all of their different strengths

I could easily flip that and say we get it, yall don’t like Drake. Yall are the ones that are picking a side more. Why is it crazy for me to give both sides props?

I didn’t say anything to discredit Kendrick there I’m just highlighting what was cool and interesting about THP6. Kendrick put him in a tough position with NLU and from a strategy standpoint I see why people could have critiques for it. But I appreciate how human that moment was. Which is something I’ve always liked about Drake

you don’t have to be biased against Drake or Meek to say Drake destroyed Meek with B2B

same with Drake vs. Kendrick, the reason it seems like more people are “biased” against Drake is bc to anyone who isn’t delusional, Drake lost by a landslide

I love me some Drake onedance is my s*** but that man did so horrible in this beef I can’t let any of that slide except the push-ups song which went hard af and the best choices for family matters. Also it made me change my mind of kdot I legit thought he was washed I know go figure right ..?

Everyone thought he was washed lol. The way history repeated itself from the Jay and Nas battle is kind of insane, you couldn’t write it more perfect. In both battles the winner was coming off a weak fourth album to reclaim their status

Nope you’re wrong in this comparison and the fact you can’t see that shows bias

Meek barely competed he dropped one song way too late and it was worse and less impactful than any of the Drake ones we’re talking about.

You can use the word landslide if you want but it’s still the greatest rap back and forth ever bar none, so comparing it to something as truly one sided as the Drake meek thing is just not fair at all fam cmon. They both dropped like 6 songs.

And to an actual unbiased fan who loves both equally, it was a good fight until Not Like Us. They went like 4 rounds before that and there was not a clear winner until NLU. Admit your bias bro

Heart Pt 6 is magnitudes worse than the other songs. Except for Taylor Made I guess.

Kendrick dedicated an entire song to a fake daughter. He created another song and dropped it the day before claiming to have moles and crazy dirt on Drake just for it to be the daughter thing

I will never know how the public opinion didn’t laugh at the angles thrown from both of them. It was quite embarrassing but one made a catchy song I guess

  • Even Kendrick said “I just strangled me a goat”

He didn’t do all that for an opponent he took lightly.

  • insertcoolnamehere

My question is how drake gon say he fed kendrick the information if kendrick made it up?

Totally separate point, guy was saying "how he was moving with Adonis".. I mean he was about to massively roll out having a kid. So it doesn't really imply anything that would carry over to having another kid and hiding it.

We have text evidence of Drake pressuring Sophie to abort Adonis. I've always believed Kendrick was alluding to an abortion. But we'll never find out. Drake immediately tapped out.

Which is besides the point because Meet the Grahams is the craziest diss song ever written. Family Matters got flushed down the s***ter the second it dropped.

  • The ones you getting your stories from THEY ALL CLOWNS.. we fed you the information

He was very much directly saying that he had a living baby daughter you’re reaching.

I think after FM & MTG it was very dark from both of them. I remember the whole thing took a dark turn. The next round of NLU/HP6 ended up but I don’t really think MTG was the kill shot, it was NLU.

I do think there is some thought that NLU came out to distract from the monuments miscalculation on the daughter stuff. People were making daughter-less edits

    Pst I see dead people
Dear baby girl, I'm sorry that your father isn't inside your world

    Etc

Could be a live one too. Drake didn't feed anyone the information lol. He prob has a bunch of kids given the CLB cover. Elon Musk has a whole baby farm in Texas. Rich people are weird

    They’re two different songs lol

I thought the point of the CLB cover was him just being a f*** boy lol hence the “lover boy persona”

Genuinely think you’re reaching here though icl

Drake didn’t feed it though I agree but he didn’t know how else to reply. Kendrick had weeks/months to record. Drake was being reactive and losing because he wasn’t thinking about it. Kendrick fully outsmarted him, even if his style wasn’t very battle rap friendly

  • Noir

Uh yeah? There’s 40+ years of rap and plenty of amazing rappers that real fans listen to instead of Drake.

Posts like this one are why people think you’re playing a character online

Niggas can’t fathom that a person might not be hold Drake fan or Kendrick in as high of regards as they do .. as if Hip hop as you said isn’t over 50 years old and there are a vast amount of artists out there lol then talk about how it’s time for new “Top 5s”

He was checkmated, I feel you but also this was the end of a classic game, I appreciated the whole picture. I think it’s a little different from the sports a***ogy

Let’s be real a lot of people were biased really hard against Drake. I think the hate for the record is a little bit exaggerated because of that lens.

Also as far as Hov and Drake I’m not picking a side, at least not yet. But Drake is up right now, the Hov freestyle wasn’t that grounbreaking with those shots. Like Joe said, EVERYONE looked up to Jay and no one would think he looked up to someone that much younger than him, so it wasn’t a groundbreaking angle, it was a given.

Just like the Drake Kendrick thing it’s two goats, I never picked a side on that either. The bias and division just got so crazy that when I give Drake any credit yall see it as me being on a side. Appreciating both sides isn’t allowed anymore

There were biases all over the beef bro, you don’t have to make Drake to be some type of victim lol. But both artists have their fair share of things you could critique them on as far as their output. I’m not giving points just because the nigga responded quickly if it was a dud. No one would give Kendrick points for responding the next day after pushups if it was that song that niggas was originally running with as a “leak”.

The Jay lines weren’t groundbreaking.. but they did shake up the scene. You can’t deny that because you contributed to its discourse lol at the end of the day, Jay does this every show. He “addresses the field” so it should be expected he was gon respond to those who have kept his name in their mouth and other thumb tips. It was the jab, not the knockout hook, wait until the album.

Niggas saying Jay’s lines weren’t groundbreaking but I don’t think Drake’s subs were either.

  • this song is funny bc besides it being terrible it poked holes in his own armor. The daughter s*** is undeniably the flimsiest moment of Kendrick’s section of the beef and the “we waited a week then fed you the information” and the “they all clowns” lines pushed everything back into Kendrick’s favor bc he was just fumbling to respond

i don't think kendrick was ever 100% convinced the daughter was real, but from his perspective, if drake was gonna lie about him being a domestic abuser then he might as well throw something he heard out there on the off-chance it was true.

i doubt meet the grahams has the daughter verse, or comes out at all, in the event that drake doesn't take the beef to a place of mudslinging and unsubstantiated accusations.

  • This was the beef that really showed that drake is nowhere near as calculated as people thought he was
