Folks have been saying Disney is ruining media for a minute
U think that’s Disney’s influence? I think access & social media has dramatically changed the relationship a lot of ppl have to the arts unconsciously

Spend a few months making a list of 70 albums you like from the ‘70s then get back to me
Do U feel the same way about movies/tv shows?
In a sense, I think it more so applies to comedies. Not many will have the staying power of something like the hangover. Meme culture and humor moves too quickly for that, which is why big blockbuster releases are almost always action adventure or comics now.

FAM thread?

I think public opinion was shifting away from big budget comedies and Disney just seized on it by taking a chance on marvel

I agree completely that comedy movies/tv show are almost redundant with meme culture. but it’s not exactly what I was asking about. I think ppls relationships with the arts in general has changed a lot in the past 10 years I don’t think anything has much staying power for most people cus of lack of meaning experience/memory or emotional attachment to the art which speaks more to the state of culture than to the art itself
