So after Barbie, she has moved on to The Sims and now they just announced Monopoly movie.
Did Margot crack some kind of code with Barbie? It reeks of wanting to recreate Barbie's magic: Take a somewhat forgotten property (such as a game) and twist it on its head by injecting some social commentary about what the property represents.
I liked Barbie for what it was but this is starting to feel a bit formulaic if you ask me.

i think theres something to be said about the landlord game, the commercial hoarding of real estate, the thematic concerns of the game and what it means as an IP
dunno if margot would be able to write something good considering how she did with barbie but i could see someone competent or interested in the subject matter really come up with something good
Look, Barbie did it's thing, but this is concerning from a creative standpoint
I warned yall nobody listened
Just remember that
Can’t wait for another 300 million dollar critique of capitalism. So brave

Corporate suits gon corporate regardless. They'll turn novel concepts into franchises, because the bottom line is what they're after.
Margot is just producing through her company. She’s not gonna be as involved as she was in Barbie, Mattel just has an established relationship with her already
It was already announced they were planning on making movies on more of their properties. There’s a Magic 8 Ball movie planned
We need Rollercoaster Tycoon
I could actually see that working.
Have the first half be like those typical entrepeneur movies about a kinda wacky guy starting up a theme park, and then in the second half it turns out that it’s a theme park full of death traps, long lines & three $100 bathrooms

Get Boots Riley to do it... I'm in.
Get Adam Mckay to direct so he can teach us about how capitalism is bad
Original version of the game included a second set of "anti monopolist" rules where players were rewarded for creating collective wealth, but that part wasn't stolen by Parker bros.
The Barbiezation twist
The what
