Why are people mad @ Speed for simply wanting to win the race (which i think is his job) and not at the Hospital for helping hap out or the Race organisers for just paying the surgery.

This is incongruent to Speed’s character in the manga because he is known for valuing family above racing - hence why he didn’t sell out to Arnold Royalton and instead kept his brand in his family

But you have to remember, Speed is comparable to Jimmy Johnson: he earns a yearly salary and a cut of winnings. He doesn’t only get paid for winning races

From what I remember the race wasn’t about crossing the finish line: it was crossing the finish line with a pineapple in your car, so Speed didn’t even win

Also, the pineapple had a rare diamond in it worth more than any race’s prize money. He found it and was allowed to keep this at the end, so his sister was fine
