Found this in the Book of Mormon outta all places. Has anyone read Moses 5 and 6?
No, they think native Americans were Israelites who got turned red as a punishment. No reason to take any of their texts seriously

Yes, that whole phrase kept me from the book but I’ve learned to remove racism and bait understanding from books.
Moses 5 and 6 are dope. Can’t explain it in full but it’s revelatory imo.

Religious texts offer explanations for life under what they claim is divine inspiration/authorship. The problem is, when just one of the things they state are false then it undermines the entire text

I think it’s just the understanding of the reader tbh. There are endless scriptures of being turned white. The first one is Mariam skin being leoprus,
yet white also means spiritual pure.
So everything according to a religious text has can’t be read as literal. It can be taken that God turned the natives skin red because Esaus skin was red. God loves Jacob and hates Esau. Because the natives turned away from God he punished them and turned their skin into a sign, similar to Mariam
See, it’s all interpretation.
Utahns lost

Thanks for half ass contributing. Wanted to know if people read it not their reasons for NOT reading it.
Moses 5:28-33
28 And it came to pass that Cain took one of his brothers’ daughters to wife, and they loved Satan more than God.
29 And Satan said unto Cain: Swear unto me by thy throat, and if thou tell it thou shalt die; and swear thy brethren by their heads, and by the living God, that they tell it not; for if they tell it, they shall surely die; and this that thy father may not know it; and this day I will deliver thy brother Abel into thine hands.
30 And Satan sware unto Cain that he would do according to his commands. And all these things were done in secret.
31 And Cain said: Truly I am Mahan, the master of this great secret, that I may murder and get gain. Wherefore Cain was called Master Mahan, and he gloried in his wickedness.
32 And Cain went into the field, and Cain talked with Abel, his brother. And it came to pass that while they were in the field, Cain rose up against Abel, his brother, and slew him.
33 And Cain gloried in that which he had done, saying: I am free; surely the flocks of my brother falleth into my hands.
This is so interesting to me. The whole adage sell ones soul seemed to existed in the days of Adam. Uhmazing
Moses 5:49-53
49 For Lamech having entered into a covenant with Satan, after the manner of Cain, wherein he became Master Mahan, master of that great secret which was administered unto Cain by Satan; and Irad, the son of Enoch, having known their secret, began to reveal it unto the sons of Adam;
50 Wherefore Lamech, being angry, slew him, not like unto Cain, his brother Abel, for the sake of getting gain, but he slew him for the oath’s sake.
51 For, from the days of Cain, there was a secret combination, and their works were in the dark, and they knew every man his brother.
52 Wherefore the Lord cursed Lamech, and his house, and all them that had covenanted with Satan; for they kept not the commandments of God, and it displeased God, and he ministered not unto them, and their works were abominations, and began to spread among all the sons of men. And it was among the sons of men.
53 And among the daughters of men these things were not spoken, because that Lamech had spoken the secret unto his wives, and they rebelled against him, and declared these things abroad, and had not compassion;
54 Wherefore Lamech was despised, and cast out, and came not among the sons of men, lest he should die.
55 And thus the works of darkness began to prevail among all the sons of men.
@CH_AR do you expect us to take this Mormon s*** seriously? Pretty sure the founder is confirmed fraud.

Now that you’ve posted it, why is there any reason to believe that’s how it went down at all. Literally none of that is in the actual bible, that was just added in by some American in the mid 19th century with no way to verify his claims. As such, it’s not really something that can be taken as anything other than fantasy. And there are more interesting fantasies than that, so idk

First off, I don’t understand what you’re getting at with you 1st statement. Native Americans are Israelites with red skin. Then knowing you don’t believe in any form of scriptural text run off on your whole tangent “oh it’s all fantasy” when clearly this is a thread for people who’ve read the BOOK(S) I’m discussing.
If you are gonna contribute to this based on your so called Wikipedia expertises, then exit stage left.
Read a book for once, don’t just cite Wikipedia and think you know everything lmao. That’s not knowledgeable dude. You sound smart to dumb people, pure bro knowledge.
Whatever u deem interesting or more interesting than make your own thread. It’s a feature on this site that allows that.

If you want to discuss how the Bible actually came along that’s one thing, but you’re using these inconsistent texts as justification for real life beliefs. You’re asking if this is the first existence of selling ones soul, and I’m proposing to you that it’s not because not only thing was this composed in the 19th century. Stories such as those of Faust in the middle ages and The Lesser Key of Solomon predate the Book of Mormon by centuries.
You keep bringing up Wikipedia but I haven’t brought it up in this thread once, you sound like a “smart person for dumb people” if you’re just going to disregard everything the website has even though all the times I use it I make sure there are reference pages to site their claims. Whereas the book you’ve listed was just written by some guy. How is that any different from me just writing a book saying that Adam and Eve were the fourth attempt at starting humanity cause the others were made of different unstable elements or something. They’re both on the same level
Also also I actually read the Bible (the real one from thousands of years ago)
So the short answer is no, this is not the first existence. This concept has existed in European folklore for centuries

Sure. Why in the first place make the claim that Native Americans are Israelites? Then base your entire understanding on that? Like are they Israelites or no?

It was to make a point that the entire book should be thrown away just for that one claim. Native Americans have nothing to do with the ancient people of israel
What a poorly phrased sentence.
I believe it’s “phrased” not phased but whose the English teacher? Note how I finish my sentences as well.

Thread title still reads like cheese.
