Preferably FL studio but I can download any application if I need to. Looking for something to take me from noon to pro and give me all the key fundamentals. Doesn't even have to be hip hop based

Youll learn different things from different people. You can really learn the program from anywhere but go in and experiment and learn production tips from different people thats the big part

Go at it yourself and develope your own sonic aesthetic, beyond some mixing and mastering tutorials, you can learn everything else in your own

What do you find hard? If it's actual music composition, lookup some music theory, understanding keys and so on is actually important when it comes to creating memories

I use logic and reaper, but a lot of the concepts he mentions here are still relevant

I was wondering if Logic was better because I see a lot of dudes I consider pros use it

It literally doesn't matter which daw you use.

I use logic because I bought it two years ago. I'm switching to reaper because I find the audio editing more intuitive.

However, FL is a quality program. A lot of guys make super complex stuff with it. Billain, Flite, and Jon Gooch all use FL.

Pick a DAW and stick with it. Nothing is "better", they just have different workflows.

Spending time in your daw is the only way to make process

You can only learn so much from YouTube/other people

There is no silver bullet. I make a lot of stuff I don't like, but when I listen to my stuff from a year ago I can tell how much progress I made.

Seperate sound design days and arrangement days

Spend some time digging through sample packs you like, put everything in different folders. If you think a couple sounds might work, cool, put them in a folder and arrange some other time. Take note of presets you like as well.

Spend sound design days also watching videos
