Imo Dark Souls (or Demons Souls), Rogue, and WoW are tied for most influential. Too many clones and genres were spawned from these games, but id love to hear other ideas

Dark Souls definitely. Resident Evil 4 and Gears of War. People are still chasing R* with their open world games but GTA and RDR are still miles ahead of everything except for maybe Skyrim.

What are we calling influential? If we're talking influence on other games then I'm not denying Minecraft is massive but i don't see how it's influential tbh.

But if we're talking influence on the grand scale then yeah definitely 'cuz minecraft basically birthed the entire gaming streaming career, or maybe it just happened to be popular and go hand in hand with the advent of streaming/recording gameplay
