Outside a select few, most philosophers were lunatics, members of the aristocracy and clergy, or bourgeois grifters. They had nothing but contempt for the working class and hated the thought of the masses being able to think for themselves and see themselves as the key to advancing history, not some irrelevant monarch or emperor with “divine right”

Even now morons think practicing “Stoicism” means waking up at 2am to deadlift and acting like the Terminator around women.

Forget your schizo pedophiles and swindlers, embrace materialism. Reject idealistic spookery

    nope he’s correct

i read/study for enrichment still but i’ve been getting back into fiction and reconnecting with my imagination

the investment and time you spend on studying philosophy is not worth the payoff at all, i became very disillusioned when i would read all these thinkers and then talk to people who also “studied” (just watched a TED talk or a video essay on a topic) let alone the general attitude that people have towards philosophy in general (it being speculative, theoretical pretentious nonsense)

so tl;dr: me no care, i dabble for fun still though

I don’t think you have to adhere to a certain philosophical line of thought completely, as if it were a religion. But you can find little bits of insight here and there for sure.
