Prob a joke, but if you do s*** like this, don't act surprised when you grow old and your kids don't give a f*** about you or your wellbeing

  • Tribe

Parents should have done that with my brother

Now he's a near 40 year old loser who still refuses to leave

In my culture your parents allow you to stay until mid to late 20s especially if you do well and it allows you to get your finances and career in order, once you can you help with rent/boarding fees. That being said pressure is on early and it can be suffocating.

The expectation is you take them in when older and pay it back.

    are you from China?

Also it’s only American culture that has this obsession with “kicking kids out”

Most other cultures actually believe in multi generational housing

it's other Western cultures as well but America is probably the worst

As a social worker who has delt with adult children who have no drive or initiative.. it comes a time where you as a parent are going to have to call the police for your child to finally get it and grow up.

That time is not your son's 18th birthday

  • Sep 7, 2022

hope he boss up never talk to her again

Balkans is same, I lived with my parents til I was 25, got my masters degree and saved up enough to go live with my girlfriend (now wife)
My mom is 70 years old now and me and my siblings basically financially support her since my dad died, in her retirement years (pensions are s*** here and you can't survive just from what the government gives you)

Good. Given the absence of all rites of passage for a young man in 2022, moving out is the best thing you can do in terms of personal growth and maturity. Man up, son!
