Have any of y’all checked out his new single? I find it pretty underwhelming, but it’s still exciting to see mozzy dropped a new track

i’ve felt like he’s been underwhelming for a few years. he’s not really putting on for his city anymore either and everyone on his label except for kony are cheeks and even kony knows that and distances himself

Agreed, mozzy still makes good songs but his albums don’t recapture the greatness of 1 up
Top. And yeah I agree that the artists under him aren’t that good, the ones with talent fly under the radar or havent evolved artistically. The direction Uzzy Marcus went in with the drill songs was a total downgrade. Celly Ru improved his flow/delivery drastically but is way too repetitive lyrically. Leezy Lyfe is hella raw, it would be great to see him drop something. And lil trev probably has the most potential out of anyone in that camp, if he drops the auto tune he could go big

yeah uzzy is a joke, celly is cool i like a few songs but has never been a big standout. i feel like mozzy never puts on for any other artists besides those from his neighborhood or label. i know it comes down to gang politics but the other sac artists music is so much more interesting compared to mozzy or anyone from mozzy records rn. the youth aren’t really looking for mozzy rn they’re looking for artists like bris and g man because they’re making/made music for them and i feel like mozzy hasn’t done enough with his sound and influence especially in the last year or two.

RIP Bris, he was on the path to becoming NorCals next torch bearer. Drakeo the Ruler has an unreleased collab with him, I hope it drops

Chow Time, Chop Stix and the other collabs are painfully average. Chop Stix is just throwaways, Messy Marc is way past his prime on Chow Time, Yowda and Raz Simone are not good. There’s one other one with a guy named Lit Soxx that I don’t remember being very good either
