Damn was most definitely universally loved from jump. That s*** had people thinking Humble was a good song.
Throw Humble on at any quinceanera or bar mitzvah and the roof blows off. You just not outside like that
Album hate not even warranted. It's a bop in it's own right

Ppl still look back on this song and love it so idk what u tryna imply
We talking this year tho so let’s talk about it
His output this year has been great
Which is the better “double album”
Mr Morale and The Big Steppers
or
Honestly, Nevermind… Her Loss

He went 1/2. That “dance” album was straight ass

Man I do not give a f*** what some teenage Jews and Mexican girls doing to Humble that s*** is annoying as f***.

That’s not a real double album though and they’re complete opposites musically
“bad production” “bad hooks”
Wow you’re so eloquent, what powerful criticism
Kendrick never coming back from that one

That’s why I put double album in quotes, I get what you mean but I think it’s interesting to look at it like they both dropped two discs worth of music this year
One of my only real issues with Morale was it not delivering enough on the “double album” promise for me, i barely count it as one tbh
Also are they really polar opposites musically? There’s different intentions to be sure but plenty of stuff on MM is in that mainstream hip hop lane too

Her Loss is a classic. And so is MM&TBS. But they’re in completely different lanes so difficult to compare them. I liked HN at first but it’s aged like milk for me and is a chore to listen to now outside of a few tracks.

Mr. Morale not really a double album but it’s still long enough to me.
A Tribe Called Quests last album is a double album and that’s only 16 tracks.
What are your thoughts on Her Loss then
As catchy as it is i much rather prefer Honestly nevermind. Her loss gonna be forgotten like clb in a couple years but HN is indeed a clasic
respecting @Fiesta being Extra to turn up the thread for another 10 pages tho
Salute

Yeah and I don’t really count the tribe one as a true double either tbh. And that’s probably my favorite album of the 10s

Same actually. There’s cool moments on HL but it wasn’t really groundbreaking at all
Damn was most definitely universally loved from jump. That s*** had people thinking Humble was a good song.
Lmao showing your colors here
Father time and the heart part 5 are great but the album definitely isn't on the level of his previous greats
Hard to outdo that period of music
The sound created and mastered by TDE as a whole during that time is still unprecedented. Most people that helped create it were already gone by the time Kendrick was working on Mr Morale so it's clear we weren't gonna get something close to that level

Speakerboxxx Love below
Although some artists only put out one classic and stay remembered forever
Kendrick dropped 3 and it's still hard for some to give him his credit

on god

To answer your question, I still like Mr. Morale more than the last 2 Drake albums. I really, really liked Her Loss though. Really fun creative album. HN is fine although that s*** grew off of me.
