I have a theory that you truly become a part of society at 8 years old. Think of everything important that happens when you're 8:

• you start being conscious of stuff, unlike when youre 5 or 6
• you start really being social
• you start to care about being mature or how kids "act grown", which starts at 8

I also think it's when we start remembering things on a single line. Sure we remember fragments from the previous few years but the straight line of memory we've had our whole lives doesn't start until 8. Just a theory tho
