Textual communication puts up a barrier that blocks the human sensory experience

Even if you're texting someone you usually see irl, the lack of seeing someone or hearing their voice gives that sense of anonymity that creates a parasocial dynamic and removes necessary boundaries that would otherwise be there (ie in face to face convos)

This doesn't just affect the weirdos but the normal people too. And it's great gratification for those with social anxiety but it can also be a curse of indulgence in the ego.

This is why at the very LEAST a voice chat option or button needs to be implemented in all forum chats.
