Flying cars may be coming sooner than previously thought. On Tuesday night, a prototype of the Personal Air Landing Vehicle (PAL-V) Pioneer will arrive at the Paramount Miami Worldcenter as part of the “Miami 2020 and Beyond” art exhibit.

The PAL-V from the company with the same name, will be on display during the event, and is being called the “world’s first flying car.” The flying car is already in production and has a price tag of $599,000. The company that is producing the PAL-V said that 70 cars have already been sold.

The details of the PAL-V flying car include a retractable overhead, rear propellers, and tail wings. The flying vehicle is street worthy and when in flight, has a cruising altitude of 12,500 feet. The car is powered by traditional gasoline instead of jet fuel and can reach speeds of 200 miles per hour in the air and 100 miles per hour on land.

Debuting the PAL-V at the Paramount will take advantage of the 58-floor building’s Skydeck, which is thought to be converted to a Skyport for takeoff and landing of flying cars.

“We are delighted to support, promote and celebrate innovation as well as prominent local and international artists at Paramount Miami Worldcenter,” said PAL-V developer Dan Kodsi. “Miami is the city of the future and an international art world capital.”

I'd feel cheated if i went to this unveiling. Fly the damn car and hover above the ground at least like delorian in back to the future.
