when he starts really singing tho it picks up tbh
first 1min30 = 5/10
last 1min = 8/10
lol you pleb, his best work is the super dusty s*** from 50s n 60s
San Quentin and his prison albums are fire but none if it packs the emotional punch of him damn near death singing about regrets.
One is fine music but the other is art it's like College Dropout vs MBDTF.
Man turned a synth pop s***anthem into a Western gospel song

Much harder and ambitious work
on god has such good production idc that s*** is so fire. he the new commander n the chief thats on keef thats on god an iconic quotable too imo
it ainβt that bad, now now

jesus is born is very good
no lie
Totally forgot about that
Dont remember if i even listened to it
probably not
@FREE what you think about JIK again?
It's a 8 for me for alot of reasons overall and it comes ahead of Ye and TLOP for me because it's actually conceptually adventurous and an attempt at something.
I've posted about how I feel on it before but in short the album feels like it isn't concerned with hits like the previous one's and reminds me of Yeezus and 808s in terms of it being left field for him and dedicated to a style.
JIK confirmed what KSG and Ghost Town made me think which is that Ye can still hop into a new style and make it his own.
@Hollewood hey :)
Me liking JIK will still never not be a surprise to me I was hyped for Ye and was let down and hated on JIK and loved it

i have to listen again, and i didnt hear all the volumes. the covers are cool and well done but I just preferred his originals and thought they were more powerful, better written and liked the instrumentation more. probably just because im a dusthead but that his backing band with that earlier classic traditional country sound along with his younger voice just sounds much better to me. i dont care that much that its more ambitious, especially for a genre and artist like that, i only care about quality. sometimes less ambition is better, sometimes more ambition is better, just depends on the case. for example an ambitious S***Pistols album would be horrible
amazing amy

Kanye never made under a 7/10 for me. all good albums
