this is a terrible precedent, for a while we believed that everything put on the Internet will stay there permanently. nowadays its only peoples individual info used for doxing that stays up forever, an entire conglomerate can up and leave without a trace which is f***ing nuts. its like theyre taking the internet from under us
and on the other hand just the fact that all these writers, content creators, managers, journalists, and artists work can be erased from existence just like that is incredibly upsetting too. some of it can be problematic and whatnot but it always starts small. im not saying its an infringement on our freedoms or some s***, im saying that corporate interest has power to actively reshape the reality around us and thats sounds very unpleasant
