    The baseball countries in latin america are all huge america bootlickers. Trump could probably annex DR with not much resistance if people were sick enough of their government over there

    it all seems bleak as f*** now

    Most of the governments are still left wing though as of even elections in the past 1-2 years. That doesn't really matter as much as behaving correctly as the U.S. wants them to.

    Venezuela wasn't apart of that "wave." Neither is Nicaragua or Cuba. Those governments are decades old. I wouldn't say its bleak until they just start going after Sheinbaum or Petro in this manner (which is unlikely for now).

    LatAm is unfortunately used to this. There's already a precedent for U.S. invading a South American country to arrest its leader and about 150 years of interventions This is just what the return of "spheres of influence" and the Monroe Doctrine is going to look like.
