What is your opinion on people in the music industry (artists in particular) in TV shows or Movies?

Personally it depends for me it either works or it doesn’t. For example The Weeknd in “Uncut Gems” considering he played himself but it worked well with the plot. However in “The Idol” we all know how that went lol. To fair I think he did decent in parts but overall the character should have been played by somebody else.

In general though I usually just see the artist as “oh look it’s so and so” I never really fully buy into them playing somebody else. What do you think?

I think he was great throughout the show not just that scene

Idk I think in other episodes like when he yelled at the dude in the store that was laughably bad. Agree to disagree then but how about any other artist than The Weeknd?

That’s because the internet took that scene completely out of context made it into a meme comepletely . But besides him bjork was great in the Northman . I think meadow and sylvio in sopranos are s tier musician actors as well
