You might be like, how would the listeners get worse with time? Well I blame this on the short attention span of people now and a crowd mind being more relevant than ever. The labels also are to blame for catering to this. Music is still good and hasn't lost its quality and never has there's just more artist which means more ass music for labels to push.

Only thing that changed is its easier to access music
So yea back then, u spend $10 on a cd and ur gonna try to get the absolute most u can out of it
Now accessing music is so easy, people arent gonna try to like things anymore, so more stuff gets forgotten

Good music always sticks around tho, i mean i guess i can only speak for myself but when i like an album i listen to it non stop for a week or 2 and it slowly simmers into my rotation thats how I usually take in albums

i agree with this statment more than the one in the OP. The music quality is defiantly less but and its because of this plus over saturation by people who aren't actually talented enough to be making music
