Well that’s a lovely precedent to set
To be real I really think it was a lot more than the gun thing, I heard they were having a hard time selling tickets with that mid ass lineup

Whenever they want to cancel shows for poor ticket sales, they make up an excuse. They’ll never flat out say it’s because of that lol

That was my initial thought too, but Festive Owl is usually pretty accurate with this stuff. Could still be a factor tbh

Yep, easy cop out

It may well be a low ticket sales cop out, but this lawsuit would be an awful precedent one way or another if it goes through. Other fests on public land in red states like ACL, Shaky Knees, etc. are at risk of activists suing over the same s***.
These same mfs are probably talking out the other sides of their mouths about government overreach too
I mean, makes a ton of sense.
Artists having clauses in their contracts that guns must be barred from performance grounds would explain a lot.

They did move the MLB all star game bc of politics in Georgia tho so it could be that.

They can buy up land and make their own rules. That was the line right? Just make your own platform
Every music festival in the world has guns/weapons banned lol if they cant do that now with these new laws I can see why there's a ton of pushback from artists/organizers.

Seems like it, to an extent, yeah. Would have to host the site on private property, no public spaces.
Could probably try to source this for a later year but would be a lot to try to do on the fly.

Yeah that’ll prob be the solution for the bigger fests, again assuming this is the actual issue at hand
F***ing asinine and a waste of money but so it goes
This man really said “I can’t strap up at the Fall Out Boy concert? See you in court.”

I completely forgot about this mid

https://twitter.com/thefestiveowl/status/1554108917499670528Yea festival owl is legit, but first thing I thought of when I saw this news break this morning was shaky knees was legit down the street from where Music Midtown is held and it didn’t get canceled a month ago lol. I’ve been hearing since MM released their lineup about people not going this year, the gun issue is obviously been an awful thing and big problem here this summer in Atlanta but that definitely isn’t the main reason they’ve decided to cancel this

Yeah good point. I’m sure one way or another they’d be making a bigger attempt to make it work if that much money was at stake
