I’m dead serious he’s the next superstar

He reminds me of post Malone in that he clearly has a formula but that it is an extremely appealing formula that has a lot of life left in it

He really has it all, the streaming numbers, the radio numbers, he has the straight-up trap hits and the love songs. Plus he's doing exactly what he should be doing, getting more exposure from features and taking his time on his next album, really excited to see how his career goes

31k first week is a massive W for Gibbs. Bandana did 18k and that was with Madlib, so Gibbs seems to be getting more popular

I'm pretty excited to see how Roddy's career unfolds from here. Drake/Kendrick/Cole are all in their mid 30s. It's about time someone comes along that can potentially succeed them at the top of the game. (No disrespect to Uzi or Baby or Gunna or 21 or Kodak or anybody else, I just can't see them doing 500k fw at any point)

Roddy has superstar potential because he has a ton of crossover appeal. Guys like 21 and Gunna are solidly with the trap wave, while Roddy and Uzi can also sing and/or not feel out of place on a pop song. If he keeps it up he'll be gunning for Drake's niche in the top 3 for sure

Bandana did 17k and 7k were pure sales. Now 31k and 21k were pure sales

Lol two highest debuts of the year... one was a feature and one was a dance song that outlived its TikTok popularity

All of that with no bundles

Imagine if YouTube was still weighted this heavily, Life Is Good would've been #1 for like 15 weeks

mostly trash top 10 but damn B.O.B. fell off so hard. I didn't even know he had 2 top 10 hits at the same time.

me too. A lot of people actually liked it, it sold about 5 milion in the US and over 8 million worldwide. It was a huge hit. I think it was just Usher "fans" whining and complaining about it not being the same sound as Confessions even though if he did then they'd complain that he needs to evolve as an artist and that sound was old and dated. Always shifting the goalpost smh. That album was fantastic though. Full of straight bops and it was certified platinum in 2 months. He hasn't certified anything other than that album and some features this decade, and he is still undercertified for a lot of his records, even dating back to the My Way era

Usher really is a legend, one of the greatest to ever play the game. Even his stuff from the 10s were great most of the time. Hard II Love had so many bangers.
