The other artists I named also make bad music. EA was trash, Dababy's album was trash, Lil Pump was always trash, Desiigner, Soulja, Yachty,... So many trash artists. I get why people hate 6ix9ine, his attitude, snitching,... But he's far from the only trash artist.

Sometimes singles do help albums. For example, if Ella Mai's Boo'd Up wasn't on her debut album, that album wouldn't have done nearly as well.

But I think in general album sales help single sales instead of the opposite, it just depends on the artist and their fanbase really.

They do that for the RIAA that distribute gold and platinum plaques. The RIAA will take into consideration single sales when distributing plaques. That’s why Scorpion was considered platinum even before the album was released but it’s first week sales were like 730k.
