Y’all keep expecting or hoping for another “2010-2013 golden age” and it will never happen
Every album will seem like it came and went because it’s so easy to put out music now. Streaming makes music so accessible and nothing is memorable anymore. That’s why albums pre-streaming all seem like classics because there was more time invested to get the album and also listen to it
That feeling will never come back. Kendrick could drop another GKMC and it will be good, but people will forget about it quickly once the next thing drops

@ me dont speak on my thread, but also ur right, streaming media in general has been a death sentence for innovation
Drake dropped Scorpion which is an universally agreed classic yet most people forgot about it even with gettingn exposed for hiding his child
I agree
Nowadays I noticed even if the album is “good” I literally have no desire to return to it unless it’s fantastic and from one of my favorites. Because of streaming things come and go so quickly we’ll never experience those days of great music with longevity again

I mean it’s a trash album though
Maybe we’re overthinking it. Yeah streaming has had negative effects on the quality of music I won’t deny that
But streaming being the default of music consumption is something we JUST got used to. Pretty soon there will be more ambitious and “artistic” exploration
Just give it a lil time, every era has its down period: hair metal came before grunge, bling era before the 00s, etc
