How do you reconcile your enjoyment of the album with the intent behind it explicitly being to convert you towards Christianity - a form of monotheism in direct conflict with the basic tenets of Islam due to its declaration of Jesus Christ as an equal or another form of God?
Just cover your ears when you listen to it bro

That s*** blasphemy akh cant rock w em pagan tings
JESUS IS KING - No other way around it.
Jesus will play a very big role in the near future.
Yikes
Even despite the core difference in belief, in this case, Jesus being God.
Which is fine, I love it too, but Ye is actively trying to convert you. It's his stated intent from the Zane Lowe interview. Doesn't that flavor the music a little?

Giving me a revelation
This ain't 'bout a damn religion*
Jesus brought a revolution
All the captives are forgiven
Time to break down all the prisons
Every man, every woman
There is freedom from addiction
I'm many themes about god are in common for the 2 religions, just enjoy the beauty of his faith generalize it. its not that he specifically found this guy jesus, he's just passionate about giving himself to a higher power. idfk tho i aint religious at all but i can appreciate the emotion that kanye finds in religion

fr i can empathize with what is ultimately a lifelong search for freedom, and nothing makes me happier than seeing him now compared to 'I Love It' era.
I just don't know if I can fw his vision to ultimately convert people away from their own faiths. That strays away from an exercise in empathy/emotional intelligence into the realms of something weirder.

speaking for myself, it’s fairly easy to listen to once you realize that it’s an album and not some mind control device
Really boggles my noggin that people can hold beliefs that are basically the same but think that only theirs is the correct one. I dont think I could handle the religion in the US judging by what ive seen on the internet

imo when he says he is willing to convert others to christianity i dont think its about convincing people their religion is wrong or god is real but more just like "woah i found so much peace and love and freedom from "jesus" i need to tell people because it can help them in his mind rn. he hasnt really gon negative like f*** other religions or aetheists are gunna burn in hell or any of that bs

Most of music seeks to convert someone to a certain ideology. There is malice in everything. Most of hip hop is more damaging than JIK imo.
Islam and the Old Testament go hand in hand to a certain extent. Prophet Muhammad is prophesied in the old Bible, no?
