The intense buildup at the end of the song where the strings grab you by the throat and then drop out is one of the highlights of Kendrick's discography, crazy sound design on that.

    yea that s*** is insane

OP I agree. This is my favorite song on the album by far. Take Kendrick out of it and just let the beat play. Something ive noticed w Kendrick is he and his producers do a really good job to utilize string instruments, and for me they be grabbing at my heart.

Ppl laugh at that twista vid but I can guarantee it was thousands of ppl listening the same way, w tears in they eyes. Me being one of em. Content wise, I liked what Kendrick was talking about. It’s an experience I identify with personally.

“She wasn’t gay she ate p**** and that was the difference !”

Something that makes me really sad is all the effort people gotta put in just to be themselves. Then when you do decide to be you, people will hate you for it.

The last ~30 ish seconds of the song is kinda up in the air for me.

My favorite part of the song and perhaps the entire album are the back up vocals. Notably after Kendrick introduces Mary Ann.

But yea I’m ready to start hating on this album so y’all say the word
