I didn’t read the op but I just want to say I work at a supermarket. I love working nights but some p**** that claims he has breathing problems is taking my spot. Not going to let this slide. Tomorrow I’m filing a fake sexual harassment report again this f***head.

This is going to be long, can't shorten it since there's so much s*** going on.

I work in a supermarket while at college, college is shut and I'm putting in 50+ hours at work, it's s***, none of my friends are on and I'm stupid tired all the time.

I'm working days, sometimes it's just me on the floor, so you're really kept busy.

It came up in a conversation with my supervisor that I have asthma (I was joking about pulling a sickie or something), she said 'oh you shouldn't be working!', I told her I'm fine and that it's really mild.

A few days later she rang the shop to speak to me, she said I shouldn't be working with asthma, and that she wanted me to get a doctors note/take leave.

So I went to my GP, he gave me a week off and said I would be better off avoiding work/people, I mentioned how there's a team coming in on nights stocking shelves, he said that would suit me best, so he added it to my doctors note.
So I said that to my supervisor, who said she'd put me on nights..

Problem is, that means someone on nights is going to be put on days, and everyone likes nights, it's extra pay, shorter hours, no uniform, no customers etc.
So someones going to be pissed with me.

The other thing is there's a girl who I've been chatting to/flirting with who also started on night, so the guys (who know I like her) are going to think I asked to change to spend time with her.

The thing is I actually told her to ask for nights (parents health condition, she was afraid she'd catch something and bring it home to her parent), and that was before I was even on about moving to nights.

I actually said to one of the guys that my parents want me on nights due to my asthma, he asked if I had asked to be put on nights, I said no... and then it just after that I found out I'm being moved onto nights.

I want nights, all of my friends/other part timers are on nights.. plus she's there..

I don't know..
How do I explain to the guys that I didn't ask for nights, that the supervisor said I couldn't work days and that my doctor told me to go onto nights?
Because they're going think this is a big elaborate scheme to get closer to her..
So it's like I'm forcing their hand, 'well I've a doctors note so ha ha f*** you'

I was suppose to be on nights to begin with too! but I told the manager I couldn't due to college work and s***, yet I'm starting on them next week..

I know it's long, sorry.

I know it's a cliche, but anyone who would bust your balls over this isn't a friend worth having. If you're in a high risk group, distance yourself. I think OP's supervisor handled this really well.
