not sure how I feel about AI music still

I have no doubt its gonna replace the bulk of commercial music at least because its been clear even pre AI that there is a serious mathematical component to music (see someone like Max Martin) and AI is going to be able to execute that better than humans and predict trends better too

but there's also a human emotion component to music and I am yet to see anything that is purely AI made that has that quality at all

imo the best music comes from breaking that musical component and experimenting which an AI won't be able to do as convincingly as a human

    I agree I hope
but I do think AI music will fill out the mainstream music market pretty quickly

    absolutely

some of these artists already sound like their lyrics are generated by computers so its a very real possibility

Part of the reason I don't like this song is because it sounds like a Frank ripoff. I don't want Travis to blatantly ripoff other artists lol

Most commercial music feels like Ai anyways. Not worried tbh. It’ll exist it’ll be popular and won’t be different than what’s usually popular. Take a look at some of the top hits today and what’s being spun in that top 100. Half of it is music made in lab for spins.

We’re on KTT. The diverse group of people on here are all into interesting niche things and communities like this will keep music being made by humans well and safe.

Ai won’t be able to do but people who can manipulate and train it will.

Like Eno in the 70’s lol

Yeah he’s not credited, but he did poach Vegyn and Buddy Ross lol (big ups to them)

Also sounds like some Frank Dukes-type vocal processing

I don't understand why you have "no doubt" its gonna replace commercial music. Maybe it'll be used to help write and produce music but you are out of your mind if you think Ai artists will ever be a thing. They already tried it with that FN Meka bullshit and it flopped

Almost exactly the same yet so much better

good points but im still not sure if id say the sound to music which contains that mathematical component you mentioned is the only (or primary) reason why the average consumer listens to music

i do have a lot easier time seeing the market filled out with AI-assisted real artists if that is what you mean. also AI tech further assisting the industry for marketing, etc. which it already is ofc (like all other industry). still have a hard time not seeing it as a terrible thing though even as i try to keep my mind open.
