Why would you listen to Hov when broke up?
Well I was listening to Drake ofc and one of his songs reminded me of Reasonable Doubt

I'm f***in wit the Hova. idk what Future be rapping about, but at the end of the day this project really isn't about a breakup more than it is seizing control of my life
I know what I want, so it's time to get focused on that

Oh yeah then it's different
If going through a break up Future was a better option
But when you wanna set new goals in life Jay Z def one of the best options
Do y’all know the original title of Reasonable Doubt
Tell us, I'm curious!
Reasonable Doubt is an amazing title. I love saying it, I love hearing it, I love feeling it.

I've gotta thank her though. She recognized that I wasn't really being myself. I feel like I had to experience that in order to get back to my true self. I've been wearing a mask for a long time. Currently I'm at a state where I can really reach back and have authority over who I am. I'm allowing myself to reflect that into the world.
I’m listening to The Blueprint this week.
Praise! We’re in a new era of Hov entirely. I’m really looking forward to this change of pace. I’ve come to love Reasonable Doubt and some of his early work as some of my favorite musical works. I had many favorites off of Reasonable Doubt, and towards the end of Part 1, I rediscovered Bring It On, a song somehow didn’t initial download. Man. That might be my favorite Jay track now. It’s a song that summarizes all my feelings over the course of these five albums we’ve reviewed. Such a captivating spirit Jay is, man.
I’m planning on doing the Re-Rank before The Blueprint drops, and that’ll be my final farewell for this era. I keep getting pulled back to this music over and over. I’m always ending up wanting to hear more Reasonable Doubt, or running back Vol. 1. Plus this era holds a lot of meaning for me, so I’m looking to packaging this up and exploring a new type of Jay.
New sound, new spirit. Moving on.
I’m most curious about The Blueprint 2, and I wonder how The Black Album will compare to Vol. 1 and Reasonable Doubt. Also, Kingdom Come is one of my favorite Jay albums, being the first one of his I ever copped, so I want to see how I hear these songs now that I’ve witnessed more of his timeline.
Part 2 will consist of the following reviews:
need that blueprint review expeditiously
I know any type of success breeds envy
love this song
Extremely powerful thread, concept and execution

This album is crazy bro. I been listening to his first 5 albums for two months now and already Blueprint has songs that just... supersede all of that, damn.
Heart of the City, man, is... gosh, that's a good song.
But the whole album, it's like Jay is getting his money really now. The team is in order, the concept is in order, the vision is in order. This album was a launcher.
I gotta sit on it cus I ain't lie, once the Blueprint and Black Album start hitting, ima be curious how I view his earlier work in comparison. It's really ramping up now and we've got plenty of albums left to go.

“Heir To The Throne”
according to the guy who shot the album art, via the tidal 20th anniversary doc I believe.
He said that they had that title, then they let him do his vision for the cover because he took less of a fee, and then the day after the cover shoot they changed the title to Reasonable Doubt the implication was that the cover somehow inspired this or something, it was vague but cool
That little bit of info of the og title doesn’t really seem to be out there much though, thought that was interesting. Obviously what we got was better.
This was definitely when the plan was still to get Nas and AZ on Bring It On too
There’s an OG tracklist out there too with 3 unheard songs that didn’t make it and a different order
As for the title itself it’s crazy that it actually foreshadows Jay’s “king of New York” claims with vol 1 and shows that seed already existed fully

They say you can't turn a bad girl good,
But once a good girl go bad, she's gone forever
I can't see em coming down my eyes, so I gotta make the song cry
