I'm in the final year of a Business degree, haven't enjoyed it.
Haven't really opened a book, I find it really hard to study..
I just turn up to lecturers and sit the exams.
I had this lecturer last semester and I have him again this semester.
He noticed my handwriting on a sheet we handed up, asked who I was and then when I put my hand up he said he wanted to have a chat with me after class.
He firstly said my handwriting gave him headaches it's that bad.
But then he said he remembers correcting my exam (no results out yet) and he said I'm very well written and that I'm very articulate, that I've really got a knack for it.
He said "So I assume you're going on to do a Masters after your degree?"
I said how I wasn't too sure, but I was considering it (they're not that expensive here in Ireland).
So he said he wants to have a chat with me next week.
He wants me to miss the following lecture because he wants to have a sit down with me to discuss masters programmes and generally what my plans are for after graduation.
I'm guessing this is a good sign.
It's not a recruitment drive for the college - he was recommended programmes offered elsewhere.
Others wanted to chat with him about exam results - He flat out said no, not until they've been released, and they can only appeal them - no chat.
So I'm meeting with him next week.
I'm guessing he sees potential in me?
I'm not too sure what to make of it, what do you think?
yeah dont turn down the opportunity
you dont have to commit to anything, just add some more options to your arsenal + build a connection that could be useful
There's not much to wonder about he pretty much told you.
That's good tho. Hear him out on what programs he thinks would be suited. And if you're interested or not you still have an easy and committed reference (for any future program, job, etc...) who will have a lot to say about you. Didn't seem like you were into the subject much but at least you have something there to think about
Lotta people overlook making actual connections with professors
