It’s hard to tell honestly. I don’t think he would’ve ever stopped making hip hop music, that was his first love. But his style was changing into more of a John Lennonesque style. This is evident on certain songs on Swimming and ALL over Circles. He was learning how to work with the limitations of his Vocal range and using it to channel emotions, really becoming an ultimate singer/songwriter in his final form.
