    nah. nobody saw him as a rising star, his music is too complicated for masses

    He wasn't seen as someone who was going to go mainstream but it wasn't uncommon for people on places like KTT to see him as one of the best rappers out and there was a lot of hype for his next album. That all pretty much ended after These Days

    I agree, These Days changed fans' perception of him, but he was never supposed to be big. he is too weird for this

    I remember people was already hating when he put out the cover lmao

    When he said I wanna go back to my roots they called him racist and cultural appropriation

    When he release Filthy it didn’t blow up at all

    And the whole album was a mish mash of country pop and hip hop that didn’t work at all

    Plus people was hating on him doing Super Bowl because of 2004 Janet, and because he did the Prince song even though Prince didn’t like him

    Truly bad era lmao I don’t think he deserved it he just wanted to make music he likes and got crucified
