An example would be Soulja Boy. When he first blew up all of “real hip hop” and pre-social media fans lost they’re mind, criticized his dance and overall artistry. Now almost everyone recognizes how influential he was using YouTube and other platforms to go viral. And plenty of artists today implement dances to break a record.

50 used to get trashed from REAL hip hop heads when he blew up. tbh I always thought it was funny he got a pass from em fans who'd usually hate the sort of stuff he rapped about but that's all forgotten now.

I think lil baby is gonna be an example of this. Was criticised for being generic trap for a while but had carved out a huge fanbase for himself now. gonna be seen as a star from this era in a decade
