Out of time is literally my fav song on dawn FM. And it gives me rock with you vibes both f***ing classics.

    I LOVE Neon Bible

same it's my favorite AF album and one of my top 20 albums ever. s*** is a true masterpiece

funny how you mention the mixing on the Suburbs cuz the mixing on Neon Bible is so gatdayum dense not that that is a bad thing, but comparing it to Funeral and Suburbs is like night and day

?? would you rather listen to Funeral's s***ty ass mix ??

    Unironically yes

I like mixes that have character, Ready to Start sounds so clean and neutered compared to something like Rebellion (Lies) where even if the drums are mixed too softly, there's a rag-tag DIY quality to it that gives it charm

@Sir_Swagalot NB is legit maybe my personal fave of theirs, Funeral has their highest highs, NB is their most consistent all-bangers album, but I also think Reflektor kicks ass, very underrated, The Suburbs doesn't do much for me and their last album never happened

The mixing on NB oh man, it's so maximalist, when that WALL of organs hits on MBIAC

I hate when established rappers sound like younger rappers. Dumbing down the quality of your music to please a younger demo/their fanbase is corny.

nah I understand the mentality cause personally I don't mind the Funeral mix nor did I think the "cleanliness" of the one on Suburbs was that much of a problem

Also REAL for Neon Bible love cause that's my favorite as well

Reflektor was like one of the first CDs I bought with my own money. I wish I never gave it away

omfg the mixing on No Cars Go?? love love love that song. idk why some people think the EP version is superior

It's so good man, their only one that has zero skips for me, the hooks are crazy catchy and the theatrical production across the whole thing works so well

No Cars Go is just the platonic ideal AF song, even if my personal fave is Neighbourhood #1

I swear the Reflektor title track doesn't get nearly enough love, it's a moment-to-moment masterpiece for 7 minutes, with a David Bowie cameo?? One of the best songs of the 2010s IMO, when the piano solo comes in jeez man, the James Murphy production? I could go on for hours

James Murphy gotta produce for other people man. Aside from LCD Soundsystem, dude kills it when he produces for others.

It's a shame he didn't get to produce Blackstar I don't remember the details all that well, but it would've been great

Another track of the decade man, INSANE energy, can't even put into words how much of a lightning in a bottle moment DoYaThing was

Murphy did do percussion on Sue and Girl Loves Me, but it is a shame, weirdly I thought the ending of I Can't Give Everything Away sounded a lot like the ending of Great Release on the first LCD album, I might be thinking of Home on This Is Happening too tho, the influence isn't unlikely

I love how up until his death, he always embraced the new generation of talent. You can tell he was influenced by Kendrick, Boards of Canada, and Death Grips when he recorded those tracks

I'll never forget listening to Blackstar the day it dropped and loving it and I listened to it like all weekend. Woke up for school that Monday and heard the news of his passing really made me emotional. The first time I felt like s*** when an artist died, followed by Prince's death a couple months after

It blew me away man, The Next Day was alright but hearing a Bowie album that you could ACTUALLY call his best since Scary Monsters was insane, it was so experimental and daring too

I remember listening to it for the first time on the CD player with my dad, he was really impressed too, then a few days later I found out on KTT1, a thread called 'RIP David Bowie', at first I thought it was a joke like RIP to his career or something but no, it was so hard to understand
