I think it's more about finding someone with the drive, ambition, skill and audacity to be Drake's protégé. It must be scary for niggas who Drake simply cosigns just because of the spotlight/expectations that come with that. A legit rapper getting signed to Drake will get crushed under the pressure of living up to his legacy/achievements. That's probably why Drake doesn't bother.
He's already found that in Dave.
Feel like them two got something in the works over years but letting Dave develop on his independent grind. There's a reason they haven't dropped any music together yet after wanna know remix despite being very close.
Very interested to see if that ever culminates in a signing or collab album.
