Tbh. I might be buggin but this could be a top 5 Nas album! Coming from someone who’s listened to him since the 90’s
I’m thinking this has to be his best rapping since like Stillmatic, Lost Tapes or maybe even IWW
Am I crazy?

I feel the same. I’m finding it wild that a lot of users are trashing this. I mean I get it with the Kanye/Nas album, but this is pure quality

Yeah you definitely crazy ain’t no way you gave all the Hitboy albums a proper listen the rapping on KD 1-3 and Magic 1 makes this look pretty bad in comparison also the rapping on LIG s*** even Untitled stop it man

Man if the beats on an album are bad to mediocre then its very hard for the rapping to make up for it to me

They aren’t. I love the beats!

The Magic Series and this are the best he’s rapped since stillmatic easily

You feeling this album? I don’t get the production hate tbh, there’s no trap elements like KD series but I like that

How are they bad? Yall gas tf outta alchemist when he’s been s***ting out drumless beats and sample loops for a decade

Yeah I’m feeling it. I don’t think people have the right expectations when it comes to Premier. I think a lot of the people hating probably haven’t listened to Gang Starr albums much. They’ve heard Moment of Truth but not the others. Premier set the backdrop and nostalgic tone for Nas and that’s all he needed to do. Modern fans just want more instrumentation and variation. And I do get that. Prem style arguably hasn’t aged the best as far as connecting with modern audiences. Times have changed a lot, and modern listeners don’t even like Illmatic. They find the beats too repetitive. So the reaction makes sense but also I think people on here should know better.

You even listening to what Nas is saying on this or just focused on how much you hate the beats?

The rapping on this is miles above LIG and Untitled, not a comparison. He sounds 20 years younger here than he does on Untitled

Finally someone on here talking sense. As an OG Nas fan that’s been listening since the 90’s I’m
Enjoying this so much. I feel like they’re both in their respective pockets and it’s a nice throwback album. Gives me that Illmatic feel (though very different). And you’re right about Nas sounding younger than he has for the last 15+ years. He sounds even more energised than on the magic albums. I just feel like I’m hearing a different album
Maybe fantano will like it then people on here will all of a sudden change their minds

I expect the critical response to be really bad and make it turn even more to a dog pile on Premier but hopefully im wrong

You’re probably right tbh. Shame because I’d love this to be a series. Next one on the bucket list for me is Nas and Pete Rock tbh! F*** an alchemist album
In honor of this album we’re running DJ PREMIER VZ RZA Monday night live from the ktt2 music forum

Can’t be serious
Can’t be serious
100% serious. I bought every Nas album in real time since Hip Hop is Dead, I never heard him sound this young until the 2020s. The way he was able to revert to his 96-01 self is actually insane. His vocal tone on Untitled is more husky and the flow more laid back

Nas with a whole album produced by prime RZA would be fire too
I’m late but this s*** tuff

Man respectfully you talking bout vocal tones this is Nas we talking about here arguably the greatest lyrical genius of all time
When I’m talking about Nas rapping im talking metaphors I’m talking rhyme schemes I’m talking imagery I’m talking story telling
I’m talking bout the building blocks to this poetical rap s*** man, that said yeah nah I’m not hearing him elevate any of that on this project. He does have a nice “tone” though, I guess lol

You failed as a Nas fan if you listen to this album and don’t hear a rhyme scheme

I specifically said he sounded younger which is what you took issue with so idk what you’re talking about. Seems like you’re having a whole different conversation
Nas has always had his pen and conceptual mind, that’s a given and it is still present on this project. What Nas gained in these last few years of activity was some energy in his flow, vocals and even attitude that had been lost for a while. And I think the correlation with that and sounding younger is pretty obvious. There’s a lot more hunger in his 20s work than there was through his late 2000s and 2010s work. This isn’t really controversial or a debatable thing so you taking issue with it is somewhat bizarre
Breaking opinion:
I like this album A LOT
Album is incredibly cozy
