The only track I can’t get with is Bouquet. One of the longest songs on the album and 95% shoutouts really not needed considering writers has the same concept and is 1000 x better. Literally the only complaint I have about the album though… tbh most Nas albums have that one track I just don’t like

Deleted the song tbh. About 15 listens deep, I give it enough of a chance! Love everything else though. Found the first listen jarring but album is such a grower

I get that, but it didn’t really need to be a track, there’s a physical release, write it on the booklet/inside the vinyl. I don’t want to hear a list of 100+ names being listed on a song. This isn’t game

Nah I get it. It fits really well. It’s a 30 year update. Does what it supposed to do really well imo and I love the lyrics, sample and production

I feel the same. I’m finding it wild that a lot of users are trashing this. I mean I get it with the Kanye/Nas album, but this is pure quality

Magic 1 is his best rapping sense then but i agree people being too hateful twords this album

One thing I’ve always loved about Illmatic is you ca close your eyes and picture being there it’s so vivid. I think this has that kinda energy. It’s like a movie of New York, both old and new and I think the beats complement it so well!

Tbf most Nas albums you can do this to

  • Dec 14, 2025

Madman had potential in being the best beat on the album.. but Premo had to ruin it with that one note synth in the background

  • Dec 14, 2025

People saying “what did you expect” is so disrespectful to Premo

The production on this is a massive grower imo. First listen I felt a little underwhelmed waiting for the Nas is like type joint. But once you know that’s not coming on repeated spins I actually love the production. Feels damn near flawless to me

The problem I have with the production is how light it sounds and his samples were p generic. Premo was one producer who's beats always sounded dusty and brought a nostalgia feeling with them. This didn't have that imo.

Shout out to Nas for carrying the project
