Life is good was his last classic
Not to me, I never revisit that album.
To each his own though
He’s even becoming a better businessman than hov
Was the narrative that he had a week discog or that it never measured up to illmatic
IWW, lost tapes, LIG all seem pretty universally well received
Nas just genuinely loves what he's doing and now he also linked up with producer that fits him like crazy
His discog was never really weak as well too
Maybe it’s that
Just find it odd, he wakes up at 49/50 in the mumble/drill era to remind niggas
Or with a chip on his shoulder with “something to prove”
That’s where it feels weird for me… Nas used to take long ass breaks (I.e., this current Kendrick hiatus between Damn. And whatever is coming next) between albums
Just very random but I appreciate it
This Premo song sounds like an early 2000s classic Premo beat. Just wished he used his old drum kit
Glad Nas is continuing to showcase his skill. This is what the game needs
Definitely nobody really rapping anymore. God I miss when people made good verses
All he needed was good production and he finally got that
Wayne next PLEASE
he never had a bad discography to begin with.
Thank you
Niggas need to kill that narrative
He’s just on another run lol
But who was saying this?
Niggas who started listening to rap in 2015? Jay stans?
Like who was going around saying Nas has a "weak" catalog? It definitely wasn't a consensus from my experience.
Literally the only duds in Nas's catalog are Nastradamous, Street Disciples, and Nasir. And that's out of 14 solo albums.
Heck, if we're keeping it 100, Jay-Z embodies the "1 hot album" bar more than Nas. Before 4:44, Jay's last album was MCHG and we all know how weak that was.
I mean he’s adding some good stuff towards the tail end but nothing is classic level and nothing really has staying power or time to breathe given how quickly he’s pumping these out
Haven’t felt like this recent run moved him up or down in my GOAT rankings
his disco never was weak he just had weaker moments for sure, but he’s been in the game since 19
he’s a legend to those who rest care about hip hop as an art and that’s all that matters. even his worst albums have always had great songs, that not even just die hards can appreciate
he’s just laser focused rn. it’s beautiful to see a talent such as nas, in love with the art again. it’s mesmerizing to see someone who made himself a legend off his first album STILL, decades later, finding new inspiration
Magic is exactly what the title suggest, magical.
I'm so impressed that Nas, 25+ years into his career is able to drop back to back to back amazing albums, so amazed that i had to revisit illmatic just to appreciate his journey and man Illmatic is the best hip-hop album ever to me. To think that it was releases 25 years ago and the same dude would drop Magic is just mind blowing. He might not be my favourite MC but i can't deny the fact that he is the GOAT.
You expect him to rap about VVS diamonds and amiri jeans at 50 ?
these cookie cutter clones of the last few years will def. be rapping about that bullshit if they continue rapping at 50
birdman still doing it smh
What are y’all talking about. Nas discography has been legend status since last century.
From illmatic to life is good nas never went on project break as long as Kendrick between gkmc/tpab and bp/to his next project
He did collab albums with damian Marley, the firm, lost tapes, and other mixtapes outside of his albums
Distant relatives is a standout moment in Nas career
