A E M 7KD2 is much better than KD1, bro.
I mean, every single aspect of KD2 is an improvement on what KD1 was. The songs are better, the lyrics are better, the beats are better, the content is better, Nas flow is better, etc...
To each their own though.
I'll have to revisit all of them, but I think kd2 just has higher highs. But kd1 was more consistent to me and just had better overall songs that were more memorable to me

It is the best. KD3 is also the best of the KD’s. Magic is also better than KD1 and 2 tbh

KD1 is very mid imo. not terrible but it was nothing special. KD2 is the turning point of the Nas x Hit-boy run. I got it ranked like this.

They both used the exact same sample and made a drumless loop with the same part. But Al’s version just sounds so much cleaner and more crispy. He also samples in stereo while Madlib still only samples in mono for some reason

Madlib has said that he likes his s*** dirty because it sounds better to him that way. His directors cut of Bandana is way more lofi and muddy than the regular version

People hate/hated this song when it dropped but this gotta be one of my favourite beats out of the whole double trilogy
Wish the song didn’t have two long ass intros
but once the drums drop and the sample starts getting sequenced I love it

Yeah, this new album is simply incredible. It's EASILY the best one out of the "Magic" series.
"King's Disease 3" and "Magic 3" are the two best albums out of all the projects that Nas and Hit-Boy did together. I still gotta let this album sink in more to determine which one I like more between KD3 and this one, because KD3 was just special to me.
This was a phenomenal run of great projects between Nas and Hit-Boy these last three years. Major props to Hit-Boy for bringing Nas out of his shell again.

The thing is, if the same project had come out saying Nas and madlib people would be losing their minds.
To be fair to hitboy, everyone of these projects sounds unique and have their own sound. People just hating because it’s “hitboy” the same way they would if it was say swizz in the past (including shelf if I’m honest 😂)

other than the cure I don’t find KD to be all that strong, despite being the start of a wonderful album series. i think it definitely has lower lows that magic 2
