this show is an absolute mindfuck. I also worry that we won't see a second season of it because of the fact HBO is putting it so late on Friday nights, that's usually the kiss of death. Eastbound and Down almost ended up on that slot too and they fought to get it on Sundays for that reason

Nathan for you has insane rewatch potential because of little things like this. That gas rebate episode, he starts reading them riddles and the answer to the first one is rock. That night, he reads them another riddle "I'm round and hard, in water I sink deep. But if you do me to a baby, he surely shall sleep"

Nathan made sure to look at the camera and do facial expressions to match what he would later be saying on the narration. Makes me question whether he's just pretending or did he actually try to get into Thomas' headspace while he sat in that class
