S1 was really great, watched first half of S2 now and it's pretty brilliant so far

a bit of a rant but I'm German and have been strongly pro-Palestine for a while and the Paramount stuff in ep2 was so f***ing triggering

honestly sums up perfectly how absolutely confused the political discourse around antisemitism here is. last year it felt like every other day you got news of another protest or conference or cultural event in Germany cancelled or shut down over "concerns about antisemitism". there was a very apparent pattern there already, confirmed by an a***ysis I saw the other day which points out that 25% of all those orgs or artists silenced since Oct 7th were Jewish... while still literally less than 1% of our population is (thx to Nazis ofc but also obviously s*** like this making it clear that at some point we got so lost in this performance of repenting for WWII and haven't actually learned the hard lessons properly..)

another great example is that we have a delegate for fighting antisemitism in our gov Felix Klein who ofc is Christian and has a long track record of silencing Jewish voices who criticize Israel's politics. the irony there should be so obvious... it's genuinely infuriating.

oh and the absolute peak of stupidity is the Antideutsche movement, anti-fascist leftists who are raving zionists in the name of fighting antisemitism lmao. (apparently they even consider anticapitalism antisemitic 😭) but the insane thing is that they effectively caused a major rift in our left in the 90s which caused the majority of the left to go into a "both sides" non-stance on Palestine, though I think since Oct 7th most of the left has slowly woken up to how crazy the Israel propaganda in Germany is.
