Young DYeah it feels pretty foul to be cheering on the death of national guard members when they were about to spend the holidays with their family
They were in essence just guys that signed up for a branch of the military. They didn’t choose what their assignment was or where they were stationed
Would you be cheering on the shooting of people who signed up for the army or navy? Cause I don’t really see how it’s different
Plus the national guard is like the least "military" option (besides coast guard) and pretty much the default option for poor kids out of high school to get college paid for without going active
Where I grew up like 1 in 4 guys ended up up going to the guard for that reason. They pretty much just went to basic and go to drill once a month for a handful of years and rarely if ever have to actually do anything, and when they do have to do something it's typically disaster relief. Guard members being deployed to cities is obviously way out of the ordinary.
Needless to say, celebrating their deaths is beyond corny
