Santa Monica (God of War devs)

They are hiring for an experienced Art Director for the development of a new unannounced title!

This is most likely Cory Barlog's New IP that supposedly started early development around 2018, rumoured to be Sci-Fi by numerous teases by Cory himself on Twitter and sci-fi film director Duncan Jones - who had just met with Cory looking for his opinion regarding a certain script - said on Twitter that "If you think that God of War is Cory’s magnum opus, just you wait!".

Cory has already planned out the story and direction for GoW with the writers/team which is how he can probably work on a new title.

It might be Project Internal-7 that Santa Monica cancelled back in 2013/2014.
Supposed to be a vast open-world sci-fi shooter with multiple planets that even had the Battlestar Galactica writer on board that was deemed too ambitious for PS4.
In an emotional statement, Head of Sony Santa Monica Shanon Studstill said that Internal-7 “is a dream that died.”

4 years of dev time but at that point, the studio couldn't get it together in the way they wanted on the PS4 and its cancellation broke a lot of people and nearly the studio, tons of lead devs left after.

As a result, the studio had to move heaven and earth to build a reboot of GoW in 4 years. The cancellation of Internal-7 meant the team left after the lay-offs/leaving moved to GoW before engine/pre-production was complete so everything was a mess. Getting a demo ready in 2 years and shipping a GOTY in another 2 in that situation is a feat very few could pull off.
